Plant Description

Acer macrophyllum

Bigleaf Maple is a native tree that supports a variety of mosses, lichens, ferns, and wildlife. It also provides attractive yellow color in the fall. The top often dies in the first year after planting, but resprout the following year is highly likely. Bigleaf Maple is susceptible to heart rot, but this provides great wildlife habitat in the cavities!
