CONTRIBUTE TO LOCAL CONSERVATION FUNDS

Financial contributions allow us to preserve and enrich conservation lands in Yamhill County

Why Donate to the District?

While the day-to-day operations of the District are funded through property taxes, over the years the District has been entrusted with the care of over 2,500 acres of local protected lands. Donations to the District ensure the future protection, upkeep, and improvements on these properties. Your contributions ensure that places like Miller Woods continue to thrive and are able to offer enriching outdoor experiences and educational opportunities to all ages. The District also maintains properties that are not open to the public that provide important wildlife habitats, such as oak woodlands, savanna and prairie, riparian areas, managed forest lands, as well as some productive agricultural lands.

Preserve and enrich conservation lands in Yamhill County.

The Miller Woods Education Pavilion Fund

Miller Woods has grown into a well-loved gem within our local community. With the increasing amount of field trips and outdoor camps, there is a great need for a covered space to host educational groups and events. The Education Pavilion would create an inviting space to gather and a much needed shelter from the unpredictable weather. Although many soggy young campers seem to thoroughly enjoy the elements, it is always a welcome break to learn about local flora and fauna under a covered space.

Gift Your Land for Preservation & Future Generations

The District has assisted several landowners over the past 10 years with the establishment of conservation easements.  Currently, the District holds four conservation easements that provide permanent protection of working farm and forestry lands, oak and prairie habitat, Fender’s blue butterfly populations and other natural resource values.

Conservation easements and other approaches to provide long-term land protection are just one part of the District’s overall mission to assist landowners with their conservation goals.

Miller Woods Permanent Restrooms Project: COMPLETED!

Finished in Fall 2022, having permanent restrooms at Miller Woods has been a goal for many years.  This project was made possible by the many donations, volunteer hours, and regular patronage of the District’s annual native plant sale, the primary fundraiser that supports Miller Woods.
