Earlier this year, Palmer Amaranth was found in birdseed mixes. Recently, a Palmer Amaranth plant was found in Marion County. This is an invasive weed that can produce thousands of seeds per plant each year. We know it is a possibility that it could be found here, and we have the opportunity to get out ahead of it! Please review the guide linked below and keep an eye out for any plants that look similar. You can contact the District with photos of suspicious plants or report to the Invasive Species Hotline.
