Miller Woods kiosk concept drawingThanks to both Solid Carbon, New Energy Works, and Elk Creek Forest Products we will soon have a new visitor kiosk at Miller Woods.

The current kiosk at Miller Woods was built on the backs of volunteers and scout groups in 2008 and has served Miller Woods well through the past 15 years. If it weren’t for compromised footings and a unique opportunity to partner with local businesses, the current kiosk would remain.

Solid Carbon is donating time and carbon neutral concrete for a slab that will serve as the foundation for the kiosk. Solid Carbon uses innovative technology to sequester biogenic carbon into concrete. New Energy Works is donating a beautiful timber frame and will help raise the timber frame by hand. Elk Creek Forest Products will be donating the material for the kiosk timber frame.

WE WOULD LOVE YOUR HELP WITH THIS TOO!

Keep an eye on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/ EnjoyMillerWoods) this Summer for an opportunity to volunteer at this event.
