Growing up in New England, I remember using the juices of spotted jewelweed to reduce the itchiness of mosquito bites as well as brushing the mature seed pods to make them explode and throw their seeds. While fun and useful, here in the PNW, this is a non-native that will outcompete natives in moist areas with partial to full shade.
