Yamhill County Solid Waste is holding a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on September 23rd, 2023 from 9am to 2pm at the Yamhill County Fairgrounds!

Event is open to Yamhill County households; no business waste accepted.

Individual items must be 5 gallons or smaller in size

In related news, water quality data from the Pesticide Stewardship Partnership has been updated for sampling that occurred in Spring 2023. Water samples collected from both Cozine Creek and Palmer Creek contained the following pesticides that exceeded aquatic life benchmarks:

Cabaryl, Diuron, and Imidacloprid

The high levels of these pesticides likely caused adverse effects to aquatic organisms that came into contact with the chemicals.

Improving water quality is a community-wide effort. Properly disposing of hazardous waste is just one step you can take to minimize pesticides entering our waterways.
