Greta Holmstrom – Executive Director GYWC

Yamhill Soil & Water Conservation District partner, the Greater Yamhill Watershed Council, welcomes their new Executive Director Greta Holmstrom. Greta brings over 20 years of professional experience in natural resource and land use planning and management. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University in Natural Resource Management and a Master’s degree in Public Policy. She is also a Certified Floodplain Manager and Certified Wildfire Mitigation Specialist.

Greta grew up on a small farm in Hood River County, and has always maintained a passion for community within and amongst both urban and working lands. She has spent her career working in the public and private sectors in northwest Oregon and southwest Washington. In her spare time, Greta is an avid gardener, small livestock farmer, and fiber artist.

Greta looks forward to building relationships in the Greater Yamhill watershed. The Council is about to embark on a Strategic Planning process to update their adopted 2014 Action Plan. This will involve setting goals for the organization and prioritizing project efforts. They are also developing a new user-friendly website, and creating video content throughout the watershed to share online. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with the Council! The Board of Directors meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 6pm. For more information, see the Council website at www.gywc.org.
