The District is starting a new book & film club with McMinnville Public Library! This book club will run from November through March.
Our first meeting will be November 19th at 6 pm. Our first book will be Beyond the War on Invasive Species:
A Permaculture Approach to Ecosystem Restoration by Willamette Valley author Tao Orion. The library system
has a couple of copies of the book available for checkout. It is also available from the publisher,
Chelsea Green Publishing, or from retailers like Third Street Books, Thriftbooks, AbeBooks, and Powell Books.

If you don’t have time to read an entire book, but would still like to attend, please do! There’s a short article here on a similar topic that can also serve as a conversation starter.
Future books and documentaries will be decided by the group, so come with options for what you’d like to discuss next! Options could include The Re-Origin of Species: A Second Chance for Extinct Animals by Torill Kornfeldt, The Tree Collectors: Tales of Arboreal Obsession by Amy Stewart, or The Last Animal by Ramona Ausubel for a fictional option. These are a just a few options available through the library catalog, but please bring your own to-read or to-watch lists for additional ideas!
