The District has started a book & film club with McMinnville Public Library! This book club will run from November through March.
The next meeting will be on January 21st at 6pm, in the Carnegie Room. The January book will be Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change our Minds & Shape Our Futures by Merlin Sheldrake. The library system
has a couple of copies of the book available for checkout. Always look around and see where you can find the best deals if you’d like to purchase a copy, and support your local bookstores and libraries!
If you don’t have time to read an entire book, but would still like to attend, please do! The author was recently featured in a short piece by Oregon Public Broadcasting. The United Nations Development Programme also recently published a short piece about the role fungi could play in environmental sustainability. You could also read about Oregon’s own humongous fungus!
Future books and documentaries will be decided by the group, so come with options for what you’d like to discuss next!
