The District has started a book & film club with McMinnville Public Library! This book club will run from November through March.
The next meeting will be on March 18th at 6pm, in the Carnegie Room. The February book will be The Once and Future World: Finding Wilderness in the Nature We’ve Made by J.B. MacKinnon. The library system has a couple of copies of the book available for checkout. Always look around and see where you can find the best deals if you’d like to purchase a copy, and support your local bookstores and libraries!
We encourage all who are interested to attend. If you don’t have time to read the book, the author also wrote an article about dam removal on the Klamath River that could spark conversations! If you’re more of a podcast listener than a reader, he was also interviewed on the Ethical Agriculture Podcast about one of his other books, exploring the topic of local food.
Future books and documentaries will be decided by the group, so come with options for what you’d like to discuss next! Although the March date was initially intended to be the last book club before we all start spending our evenings outside in the warmer weather, we will also discuss possibly moving the time and continuing the book club year-round.
