The November Weed of the Month is shiny geranium (Geranium lucidum). This plant is especially common in shady areas. It’s very shallow-rooted, which makes it a poor groundcover and leaves hillsides and slopes vulnerable to erosion in the rainy season. Shiny geranium is an annual, but in this region, often has two life cycles each year – with prolific seed production each time.
