Cozine Water Stewards

Cozine Creek Water Stewards

This program is meant to encourage people living near Cozine Creek to take action to help improve water quality in the creek. This includes reducing or eliminating pesticide use, removing invasive plants, and replanting with native plants. Native plants can act as a rain garden or a buffer between pollution sources (like the road) and sensitive ecosystems (like the creek). These plants filter pollution as it flows downhill towards the water.

Support Available:

  • Site Visits

Site visits are always free to anyone in Yamhill County. Contact Brooke Karasch at [email protected] or Jordan Anderson at [email protected] to schedule.

  • Financial Support

This project is funded through the Pesticide Stewardship Partnership program and only offers financial support to individuals living on or very near Cozine Creek. While site visits and advice are free to everyone in the county, funding is very limited for this program.

If you do live near Cozine Creek, some funding may be available to help support the creation of an integrated pest management plan and the purchase of native plants to create your stream buffer or rain garden. We can discuss this during your site visit!

Thank You To These Funding Sources for Making This Program Possible
