Registration for the McMinnville Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Event is now open!
The event will be held: Saturday, September 27th, 2025 at the Yamhill County Fairgrounds from 9:00am-1:00pm. Registration is required!
Please review the list of HHW items that can be recycled locally, year round (especially if you have household batteries, rechargeable batteries, paint, compact fluorescent light bulbs– there are options to recycle some items without the need to attend an event): https://www.yamhillcounty.gov/377/Local-HHW-Recycling-Spots
If you plan to attend the collection event on September 27th, please remember:
- Registration is required. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email from SignUp Genius (check your inbox or junk mail).
- Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your selected time. These appointments are scheduled at a specific rate of cars per every 15 minutes for safe and efficient unloading.
- If you arrive earlier than 10 minutes before the time that was selected, you will be asked to return at the correct time.
Other Recycling Events/Places:
- Recycling at Staples Stores: Staples is now offering recycling for many common household items including- rechargeable batteries, single use batteries, ink cartridges, CD/DVD disc & players, various electronics, school supplies such as pens/pencils, binders, etc. There is a large list of accepted items that can be found here: https://www.staples.com/stores/recycling#rec
- Contact the local McMinnville Staples store at (503) 474-0403 for participating items and questions.
- Mattress and Box Springs Recycling Event: Recycle for FREE– up to 5 mattresses and box springs in any construction/condition. No air mattresses, crib mattresses, other bedding related products or furniture will not be eligible for recycling.
