FREE Native Woody Plant Propagation Workshop January 15

Join Marion County Master Gardeners’ Association for a Native Woody Plant Propagation Workshop at the Willamette Heritage Center (Mission Mill) on January 15, 2019. The workshop will be held in the Dye House, 1313 Mill St. SE, Salem from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Speakers include Amy Bartow and Annie Young-Mathews. The workshop will cover:

  • Choosing the best propagation techniques for native trees and shrubs (cuttings, bare-root, seed, and containers)
  • Identifying Winter Twigs with a demonstration and hands-on activity to identify 12 common native species
  • Propagating from Cuttings – collection, and planting techniques
  • Propagating from Seed – collection, overcoming dormancy, and planting techniques
  • Selecting plants including common native Willamette Valley riparian and upland trees and shrubs
