In 2024, the Oregon Lottery chose to highlight a project by Yamhill SWCD, Benton SWCD, Marion SWCD, the Greater Yamhill Watershed Council, the Western Invasives Network, and Willamette Riverkeeper. Willamette Riverkeeper was also awarded Yamhill SWCD’s Outstanding Conservation Partner award in 2024!

The Oregon Lottery provides funding to a wide variety of projects throughout the state, including invasive species removal and control. This project is about removing a few aquatic weed species that grow along the Willamette River, including garden yellow loosestrife, purple loosestrife, and yellow floating heart.
